Graco MyRide 65 Convertible Car Seat Review

The Graco My Ride 65 is a convertible car seat that can be used from 5 lbs until 65 lbs.Graco MyRide 65 Convertible Car Seat Review

The real bonus with this car seat is that it can be used rear-facing longer than many other car seats offered in the United States.

Since the American Academy of Pediatricians recommends leaving your baby rear-facing in a car seat for as long as possible, this feature offered in the My Ride 65 is something worth considering.

Graco My Ride 65 Car Seat User Reviews

Graco MyRide 65 Convertible Car Seat ReviewThe Graco My Ride 65 Convertible Car Seat has received a rating of 4 out of 5 stars from reviewers at Target.com, Amazon.com and Toys R US.com.

Users are very pleased with this car seat saying the seat is simple to install using the LATCH system, is easy to clean, feels very sturdy and safe, is roomy, and is very good value for the money.

Children appear to be super comfortable in the seat and users are thrilled that the seat provides head support when their child is napping.  No flopping heads in this seat. Parents also like that the seat comes with a cup/snack holder.

Most importantly though, users love that the Graco My Ride 65 allows their child to sit rear-facing until 40 lbs—making it no problem to adhere to the new two-year rear-facing recommendation.

This seat is also very economical because children can sit forward-facing strapped in a 5-point harness until 65 lbs, negating the need to buy an expensive convertible booster seat.

Graco MyRide 65 Convertible Car Seat Review:- Cons

The biggest complaint about the Graco My Ride 65 is that it is very large and bulky and may not fit well, or at all, rear-facing in some cars.  Reviewers recommend testing this car seat out before purchasing.

However, most reviewers who do complain about the seat’s size say they still love the car seat anyway.

The other major complaint about the Graco My Ride 65 pertains to the 5-point harness buckles.  The harness’s lower buckles are very hard to lock/click in place and take superhuman strength to do so and that the top portion of the buckle (the chest belt) is way too easy for kids to undo.

Several users report reaching their destination only to discover their toddler had undone the chest clip.

Graco MyRide 65 Convertible Car Seat Review:- Conclusion

I think one of the greatest allures for the Graco My Ride 65 Convertible car seat is the fact that you can leave your baby rear-facing in the seat up to 40lbs.

The longer your child sits rear-facing in the car seat the safer he/she will be in the car.  For this reason alone it is worth considering the purchase of this best convertible car seat for travel.

High and Low Levels of Toxins in Car Seat Fabrics

****Toxicity Warning:  New studies have been released showing the levels of toxins and chemicals used in different car seat fabrics and fabric dyes.

Graco is not the only brand to have color choices with high levels of toxins and unfortunately, most car seats from all brands have been rated with a Medium Level of chemicals, rather than with Low.

Low Levels: However, the Graco MyRide 65 in the colors Chandler and Streamer have been found to have Low Levels of toxic chemicals and are the best color choices you can make when purchasing this car seat.
