5 Tips For Buying Kids Table and Chairs

As most parents know, letting your kids sit at the grown ups table doesn’t usually work before a certain age.  If you sit them at the adults table, they’re liable to slip under the table and spend the whole meal weaving between people’s legs, or just doing laps around the outside.  If you sit them apart, say in the kitchen while you’re in the dining room, they may well get up to more mischief than you can handle.  This is where getting a set of kids table and chairs comes in handy.  Here are 5 selling points for buying a set of kids table and chairs.

1: Variety of Kids Table and Chairs
You’ll be able to find something to suite almost any room, with matches for most types of furniture.  Whether it’s colourful plastic furniture, or a wooden set, your kids table and chairs will be an attractive addition to any room in the house.

2: Portability
Of course, a plastic set will be a lot easier to transport than wood, between different entertainment areas in your house.  So it’s important to keep in mind where you’re most likely to use it.  You will need to consider who will be carrying it (will you be able to get your kids to move it themselves) also as a heavier set may make it harder to move.

3: Durability
Will your little kids’s table and chairs only be used inside, or will you also want them for out in the garden?  If you want them outside, durability will suddenly become a consideration.  Highest build quality is not always the top priority, as kids only use them before being promoted to the adults table (or at least learn to behave to be able to manage unsupervized).  But if you leave them outside, a child’s table will need to be resistant to both wet weather, and also to sunlight (discoloration and damage is often an issue).  Some of my friends bought a set of kids table and chairs in canada, and left them out in the snow one winter. If only they’d been plastic…

4: Package Deals
Do you just want the table and a couple of chairs, or does a kids rocking chair, step up stair box, toy storage box, or perhaps extra kids chairs appeal?  If you think you might want to get a complete package, often buying them all at once can lead to getting a much better deal.  You might consider looking for a discount, cheap kids table and chairs clearance sale to get a real bargain, either online or not.

5: Online or Offline?
Of course, it’s sometimes cheaper to buy online but can be a little risky.  You’ll get the best deal, but adding postage might add up to more than in a store.  Posting kids furniture may be economical though.  It is relatively light, and often boxed flat for this very reason.

These Kids Table and Chairs trends are common in the US, and also in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK, so you should be able to buy them in most kids table and chairs stores, online or retail.

Of course, getting your kids furniture they’re happy with is important.  And they may even let you get away with giving it to them as a birthday present!
